Today Belle & I left Camarillo at 6 am for our journey to Puerto Rico (we will be picking Josh up on Friday night). The day started out so exciting…until we reached LAX and found our flight was an hour delayed (we only had a 55 min layover in Dallas) due to maintenance. We were placed on Standby for another flight going to Dallas and then carrying on to Miami, as FL was is the only other connection to San Juan until tomorrow. We made that flight to TX, but it too was delayed for maintenance and then nasty thunderstorms. Long story short, instead of arriving in San Juan, PR at 9:30 pm, we arrived in FL (with no luggage) after midnight and were checked into a hotel at almost 2 am (we have to be back to the airport at about 6:30 am)—uggggg! Unfortunately we had prepaid for our hotels & rental car for the entire trip (yet another reason to never leave home without trip insurance!) What a rotten day; it really couldn’t get much worse than this.
